Sue and I have just spent a great weekend at Wonderwool Wales at the Royal Welsh Showground, Builth Wells. We were so busy on Saturday that I didn’t get the chance to take any photos so this shows the stand just before opening on Sunday – by then we’d already sold out of a few things so Sue is in the process of re-stocking.
Shawls were a particular hit over the weekend – that may be partly because the weather was so cold that the idea of wrapping up in a cosy woollen shawl was just irresistible! The kit to knit the Zauberball Shawl in the picture above was very popular as were the yarns and patterns for the triangular shawl and diagonal scarf (each knitted from just one ball of sock yarn) pictured here: Sock-knitters and would-be sock knitters were also out in force and the phrase ” I wasn’t going to buy any more sock yarn but I just can’t resist” was heard quite regularly.
It was great to meet so many of our online customers face-to face. Thank you so much for your kind comments about the yarns you’ve received and the level of service – very much appreciated.
If you haven’t been before then this is one for the diary and well worth the journey. The show had a fantastic buzz about it and the choice of yarns, fleeces, dyes and other knitting-related paraphenalia was outstanding. We were in great company at our end of the hall too – next to Purlescence and opposite Ripplescraft, both with some beautiful yarns.
Grateful thanks to Chrissie and the team for organising such a fantastic event – we hope we’ll be lucky enough to be back next year – although next time we’ll definitely remember to pack our thermals……
